Be Green & Greedy: Make Your Own All-Natural Household Cleaner

With the economy forcing everyone to be extra frugal, one of the easiest ways to cut back costs is to make your own all-purpose cleaning solution, perfect for use on counter-tops, bathroom sinks, toilets, and the like. Trust me-- you will never go back to the store bought solutions again...

First, you will need to buy a large spray bottle. These are available at Wal-Mart, or at the Dollar Tree for $1. This is a great bargain, as it is completely reusable.

Next, fill your spray bottle half-way with the vinegar (which costs about $2.50 for a gallon at your local grocery store). Following that, sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda (about $1 or less at your local store) into the vinegar. This will fizzle slightly, which indicates that it is working.

Now, fill the rest of the spray bottle with hot water. Add a few drops of essential oils, if you like. The oils will mask the smell of vinegar. I prefer mint oils, but use whatever scent you want. FYI: You can find fragrance oils (in scents such as rose and vanilla) for $1 a bottle at stores like The Dollar Tree!

Finally, seal the bottle, and shake the solution. Store it in a dry place-- this all-purpose cleaner should last your for a long time!
